Artistic Ceramics Take Tiles to a New Level

Tile manufacture has been taken to an entirely new creative and artistic level, an example of which is now on display at Ceramic Tile Merchants’ new showroom in Beverley.

Original Style, one of Europe’s leading tile manufacturers, has reproduced Gustav Klimt’s most famous work, The Kiss, using pure gold and platinum as well as ceramic colours, to recreate the symbolism and imagery within this sumptuous and dazzling image.

Using a large format ceramic tile (600mm x 600mm), Original Style has been able to create raised effects similar to the original painting. The result is a brilliant recreation of the original image which can be used as an impressive focal point in any indoor location, such as chimney breasts, patios, studios and conservatories, as well as bathrooms and showers.

Gustav Klimt (1862-1918) was a prominent contributor to the Belle Époque period, which embraced the blossoming of the Art Nouveau movement. A founding member of the anti-establishment Vienna Secession group, his work was often inspired by ancient art and the female form.

Original Style's ceramic tile 'Kiss', withstands high temperatures and convected heat from all fireplaces and stoves.

It is also UV resistant, allowing it to be used in areas of strong sunlight such as conservatories.
