International Tile Exports to Offshore Industry

Ceramic Tile Merchants’ sales profile took a leap into new waters this week with the sales of tiles to the international oil exploration sector.

Tile shipments were made from Ceramic Tile Merchants’ Beverley operation for the galley refurbishment of an oil exploration platform operated off the coast of Equatorial Guinea by the Hess Corporation.

Hess opened an office in Equatorial Guinea in 2001 and now operates two projects, Ceiba Field and Okume Complex, with partners Tullow Oil and GE Petrol.

“Hess Corporation furnished us with photographs of the existing tiles so that we could carry out a search to find a near-exact match”, said Garry Cammidge, Ceramic Tile Merchants’ Managing Director. “After an extensive search we managed to find a really good match”.
